Dov M. Grunschlag has practiced labor and employment law and commercial litigation for over thirty years, with broad experience across the field. His practice combines litigation with counseling of employers and individuals. He is a Fellow of the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers, has had the Super Lawyer rating each year since 2005, and has been recognized by the San Francisco Business Times: The Best Lawyers in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Before joining Carter Carter Fries & Grunschlag, Dov was a partner of the San Francisco firm Steinhart & Falconer and then of its merger successor, the international firm DLA Piper. Before entering law practice, he was a law professor at the University of California at Davis (King Hall) from 1968-1974.
Dov is a 1963 graduate of Columbia College, where he was editor-in-chief of the Columbia Daily Spectator. He graduated magna cum laude in 1966 from the Columbia Law School, where he was a Law Review editor. He served as a law clerk to Chief Justice Roger Traynor of the California Supreme Court in 1967-68.

Dov resides in San Francisco's South of Market neighborhood. On weekends he and his wife Jennifer (a glass artist) can often be found at their Napa home. He is an amateur clarinetist, playing the classical chamber repertoire.
